DIVISIONS OF ELIGIBILITY
Riders can compete in multiple divisions and classes.

The open division is open to any professional or non professional member, with any horse regardless of past winnings.

Horses eligible for this division have not earned more than five points in any breed association (AQHA, APHA...) or more than $100 in a national organization (NCHA, NRHA,...)
Divisions offered: Open and Non-Pro with awards for each.
NOVICE
This division is reserved for riders who wish to learn more about showing at a beginners pace.
Riders must have limited riding and showing experience in any of the four classes provided by ASHA.
A riders eligibility can be assessed in a clinic offered at the event.
Through the ASHA Show Format, once a Novice has earned a combination of three Champion or Reserve Champion or Year-End Champion or Reserve Champion All-Around Titles, then the rider will move up the next year to the Limited Open, Limited NP, Green Horse, Non-Pro, or Open Division.
In the Stock Horse Trail Class, Novices will not see the log drag.
In the Working Cow Horse Class, Novice riders will ride the short dry work pattern prior to working the cow and then call for their cow and box only for one minute.
Stallions are prohibited in this Division.
WSSH splits this division into 1) Novice and 2) Novice Rookie. Hi Point and class awards are offered for each division. When the results are submitted to ASHA the points are combined into the one division of Novice.
The rider must choose one Division to compete in.
Novice Rookie = first two years showing with WSSH
Novice = meets the eligibility requirements of ASHA
Novice Rookie riders that win a Hi Point All Around will move up to Novice at the next show.

Stallions are prohibited in the Novice and Youth Divisions.
SCORING SYSTEM
ASHA scoring is designed to be positive and straight forward, always encouraging growth and improvement.
The rules give a horse credit for what they accomplish, rather than a disqualification with no score.
Horse and riders progress is tested through competition and positive feedback from the score sheets and scoring system.
Points will be awarded to each horse competing.
